We pride ourselves on being able to deliver all services needed to restore or build a vehicle to your specifications

Why Choose Us

HONESTY AND INTEGRITY
All of our jobs are highly documented with purchase orders, time cards, and a brief description of the work performed during that time period. A copy of the current invoice is available to the customer at any given time during your vehicles stay with us.
AWARD WINNING QUALITY
Our '32 Dearborne Roadster won best in class, outstanding paint, and outstanding undercarriage at the 2013 Grand National Roadster show. Our Cadillac Woody Wagon won best overall at the Woody’s on the Warf 2013 in Santa Cruz, and our ’69 Dodge Power Wagon won cool commercial at the Goodguys Pleasanton Show in 2014.
CLEAN AND WELL EQUIPPED
We want you to feel comfortable leaving your vehicle with us. Each job is given a dedicated stall during the build process and all parts for that job are stored upstairs with each job given its own organized storage area. This assures no parts will be mixed with others or come up missing.
SKILLED TECHNICIANS
Every one of our techs has many years in the hot rod and restoration business. Every one of us is a hot rodder at heart and we take pride in the work we do. We know you are only as good as your last build so we push a little harder each time to be better than the last. In the past we have been very fortunate to have the customers that allow us to build their dreams, but allow us to give them input along the way.
HAVING CONTROL OF YOUR PROJECT
We prefer that you decide in advance the budget of what you want to spend to achieve your goal. We will advise you of what we can do for that amount. There is no sense starting a project if you cannot finish it financially. By meeting with the actual people that will be working on your car they can also give their input of what can work or won’t work for the project. Proper budgeting is the key!

Recent Project

We love hearing stories from car owners who still have the ride they drove in high school and through college as their only means of transportation. Rich Dandolo purchased this ’70 El Camino back in 1982 - the year after he graduated high school. "I really wanted a ’69 but this one had a freshly built big-block and the price was right, so I bought it," Rich explains. "It was originally brown with a black vinyl top and brown interior. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great-looking, either."
What a great weekend we had at the 2023 Goodguys West Coast Nationals. We are in the running for the Custom Rod of the Year and the GM Builder of the Year with our 58 Vette. It's a team effort by everyone and all the hard work is starting to pay off. Very blessed to have the crew and the customers that allow us to build something special.

What Our Clients Are Saying

Just a note to tell you how much I appreciate the care you put into my '66 Mustang. You guys are the greatest, with the best combination of skill, attitude and cost that I've entcountered in a good while (proves that the Good Old Days haven't completely gone away).

Thanks to you and your more than competent crew for doing the full restoration on my 1964 Chevelle El Camino. Your approach to the restoration and workmanship is unsurpassed. What I essentially have is a bran new 1964 El Camino that runs and drives perfectly.

Fred & Dianne

Gary’s Rods and Restorations accomplished two different modifications on my car. One was a completely new electrical wiring job and the other included a mechanical modification of the engine, clutch linkage update, and paint chip repairs. From my perspective, Gary’s shop is knowledgeable, efficient, and very customer-oriented. Job satisfaction and job completion in a timely manner is of the utmost concern for them. Gary and the crew are very friendly and easy to work with. Their work detail is top tier.
