The Team at Gary's Rods and Restorations wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who visited our booth at the Goodguys 37th West Coast Nationals. Your support, enthusiasm, and shared passion for classic cars made this event truly unforgettable. It was an absolute pleasure to connect with everyone, whether you're a long-time customer or a new face in the crowd.
A huge thank you also goes out to the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association and all the participants who made this event a tremendous success. The hard work, dedication, and camaraderie on display were truly inspiring.
We're thrilled and honored to share that our Gary's Rods and Restorations team took home two prestigious "Builders Choice" awards and the "Ford in a Ford" award. These achievements wouldn't have been possible without the support and encouragement from our community. Thank you for your role in making our dreams a reality.
We love hearing stories from car owners who still have the ride they drove in high school and through college as their only means of transportation. Rich Dandolo purchased this ’70 El Camino back in 1982 - the year after he graduated high school. "I really wanted a ’69 but this one had a freshly built big-block and the price was right, so I bought it," Rich explains. "It was originally brown with a black vinyl top and brown interior. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great-looking, either."
What a great weekend we had at the 2023 Goodguys West Coast Nationals. We are in the running for the Custom Rod of the Year and the GM Builder of the Year with our 58 Vette. It's a team effort by everyone and all the hard work is starting to pay off. Very blessed to have the crew and the customers that allow us to build something special.
Nothing makes a story more heartwarming than having a little family history tied into it … but this one’s extra special, as Alex Rosales’ ’53 Chevy is ALL about family!
“It had always been a dream of mine to one day restore my great-grandfather’s truck and be able to have my family ride in it and maybe one day have my kids drive it,” Alex says. “I wanted to keep the truck’s body and interior as close to original as possible and leave the natural patina but went with a modernized chassis and drivetrain so it would run like a late-model, high-performance car (or better).
When Ralsh Francis decides to squeeze in some quality father-son time, he thinks bigger than a fishing pole and a bucket full of fish. Much bigger. Ralph is one of those people who gets more done in his spare time than many of us get done all month. He's a remarkably positive person with enough credentials and life accomplishments to fill a binder full of résumés. So naturally, when he needed a break from the stress of work, he used the time to create once-in-a-lifetime memories with his son and, oh by the way, this jaw-dropping 1975 "outlaw" 911.
Super cool outlaw 911. Lots of changes and details to this one! Great car and even a greater customer. This is a bucket list build for a customer of ours that has a lot of custom details that will for sure set this Porsche apart from the rest! The project unveiled at Porsche Rennsport Monterey September 2018
