Established in 2012, Gary's Rods and Restorations is a new custom car shop dedicated to keeping a low shop rate while still maintaining a high level of service. See a list customer testimonials.

Gary's Rods and Restorations is truly a one stop shop. We are very passionate about the cars and the service we provide. Many of the vehicles we have completed are award-winning. Some of the awards were: Best of Show, Best Paint, and 1st place in class at both the indoor and outdoor show circuits.
We pride ourselves on being able to deliver all services needed to restore or build a vehicle to your specifications*. This is a great advantage to you as a customer knowing that we don't have to rely on outside services causing delays or substandard work, and that the vehicle won't need to be transported several times during the restoration or build process.
Our employees have the same passion and desire about the sport as you do. Gary's Rods and Restorations provide some of the fastest turnaround times in the industry.
Our normal restoration process has been averaging 5 to 8 months depending on the difficulty or size of the project with the quickest "frame off" restoration taking only 4 months.
There is no 2 year or longer restoration process here meaning you get your car back quicker so you can enjoy your investment sooner! Also our rates are some of the lowest in the area meaning you save time and money. See what our customers are saying > Customer testimonials
*Although we do not provide upholstery services in-house, we recommend skilled and experienced local upholstery shops.
Why Choose Us
HONESTY AND INTEGRITY
All of our jobs are highly documented with purchase orders, time cards, and a brief description of the work performed during that time period. A copy of the current invoice is available to the customer at any given time during your vehicles stay with us.
AWARD WINNING QUALITY
Our '32 Dearborne Roadster won best in class, outstanding paint, and outstanding undercarriage at the 2013 Grand National Roadster show. Our Cadillac Woody Wagon won best overall at the Woody’s on the Warf 2013 in Santa Cruz, and our ’69 Dodge Power Wagon won cool commercial at the Goodguys Pleasanton Show in 2014.
CLEAN AND WELL EQUIPPED
We want you to feel comfortable leaving your vehicle with us. Each job is given a dedicated stall during the build process and all parts for that job are stored upstairs with each job given its own organized storage area. This assures no parts will be mixed with others or come up missing.
SKILLED TECHNICIANS
Every one of our techs has many years in the hot rod and restoration business. Every one of us is a hot rodder at heart and we take pride in the work we do. We know you are only as good as your last build so we push a little harder each time to be better than the last. In the past we have been very fortunate to have the customers that allow us to build their dreams, but allow us to give them input along the way.
HAVING CONTROL OF YOUR PROJECT
We prefer that you decide in advance the budget of what you want to spend to achieve your goal. We will advise you of what we can do for that amount. There is no sense starting a project if you cannot finish it financially. By meeting with the actual people that will be working on your car they can also give their input of what can work or won’t work for the project. Proper budgeting is the key!
